State Championships

888PL, along with the APL can now lay claim to having the most exciting quarterly event schedule on the pub and club poker scene.  Taking place four times a year, the State Championships series delivers players a taste of the high-end, main event experience right on their doorstep.  Not only that, players will be vying for the chance to take home not only cash but seats into our exclusive new Main Event.

Entry is strictly via qualification only in some states which means that everyone sitting down on the State Champs felt is truly deserving of their seat.  Both the APL and 888PL will be funneling players into the same State Championships each quarter.  Having both leagues contributing to one event gives us the best chance of delivering players the biggest possible prize pools.

In order to be eligible for this event, players will either qualify through a quarterly game scoreboard, or a quarterly regional scoreboard except for Victoria.  Any winner of a Special Event deemed eligible for qualification will also gain entry, as well as the top two from any regional final held within the qualification period. There will not be a minimum game qualification for participation in this event.

The State Championships prize pool will consist of The Main Event seats and cash - each of which is weighted depending on your State.

• State Championships to be held quarterly in SA, QLD, TAS and NSW.
• Both the APL and 888PL will be funneling players into the same State Championships
• Entry via qualification only except for Victoria
• Top placers on the quarterly game scoreboard will qualify
• Top placers on the quarterly regional scoreboard will qualify
• Winners of eligible special event will qualify
• Top 2 from any APL or 888PL Regional Final will qualify
• State Championships prize pool will comprise cash and seats at The Main Event

Victorian State Championships are held monthly

There are several ways to qualify for the State Championships:

• Win any in venue event in the previous calendar month
• Place second at any in venue event of 40 players and over in the previous calendar month
• Place third at any in venue event with 80 or more players in the previous calendar month
• Play 8 or more games at any in venue poker tournaments ran by 888PL, APL or Pub Poker in the previous calendar month
• Pay $100 on the day (which includes $25 addon/rebuy)
