Always keep one step ahead of your opponent. Texas Hold'em can be quite a bit like chess; you always need to have a plan of action and know exactly what you are going to do if your opponent checks, bets or fold! Every move you make now can pay off three fold later if you always have a plan!

Poker Etiquette
Poker may be a game of psychological warfare, but there is etiquette involved when you are seated at an 888PL poker table. Always remain polite and respectful of other players, do not use foul language and never make derogatory comments towards a fellow player or about their play!

In 2010 all 888PL TC's have been granted the right to play regular 888PL events with players again. 888PL off duty TC's will be playing in an event near you and they will be striving for points just as hard as regular players; the 888PL has introduced a TC Score Board so you can see how you stack up against our best poker playing TC's.

Know a good thing when you see it!
When you first start playing, it's enough just to remember how to play and pay attention to your own hand. But once you've got that down, it's incredibly important to look at what's going on at the table. In Texas Hold'em, figure out what the best possible hand would be to fit the flop. Make sure you notice flush & straight possibilities.

Did you know that there are Scoreboards at almost every level of the 888Pl competition? There are event, venue, region and state scoreboards. The ultimate however is the Dream Team Scoreboard. Players who accrue points through the season based on play and results can qualify for the $20k Dream Team Scoreboard.

Qualification Methods
Did you know that you need to play 10 Away games in a season to qualify for the Semi and/or Grand Finals? It is a new condition of the 888PL that players continue to support our venues to qualify for any of our Finals.

888PL Grand Final
As of 2010 the 888PL Grand Final will be held bi annually. One Grand Final will be held in either SA and VIC every year and the prize pool is expected to exceed $250,000 for each Grand Final. Find out how to qualify now!

Pay attention to other players
Good players observe, even when not in a hand. If you know if a player raises in a certain position, & one has a poker tell when he bluffs, & a 3rd folds to every re-raise, use that info to help you play against them. Once you know that player 3 always folds to a re-raise on a river, that's when you can bluff & steal a pot.
